Partners Damien Cooke MNAEA FRSA-(pictured here), Mike Bastow and Bernard Hinson brought a fresh appeal to Thanet's property market in January 1993 with the launch of their first Cooke & Co branch. Success was undoubtedly due to experience, expertise and good old fashioned customer service, as the company flourished in the middle of the worst recession and property slump. The company grew and branches in Ramsgate and Broadstairs were also established. This is a clear statement of how Cooke & Co have prospered and become one of Thanet’s leading success stories.

Damien’s philosophy was to gain an excellent reputation not by using hard sales techniques, but focusing on customer
 

service and commitment. He felt it important to guide and support people through the stressful process of house buying and selling to a happy and successful conclusion. These strengths ensure that Cooke & Co take the lead in customer satisfaction. Cooke and Co are also the only Estate Agents in Thanet to be members of the prestigious Guild of Estate Agents which promotes professional Estate Agency and good business conduct as well as allowing Cooke & Co to market properties nationally.

But that was not enough………

When the internet revolution took the world by storm Cooke & Co were pleased to be able to offer clients one of the first dedicated websites in the Thanet area. This has been transformed into the current comprehensive site which covers all aspects of our home selling and rental divisions. The site was updated in 2003 and now offers additional services including a Homes Abroad service for clients wishing to move to warmer climates, an excellent financial services area to give the ability to compare and apply online for mortgages and credit of all descriptions and finally an on line survey service giving clients the ability to speed up the home selling process. Damien says ‘This is an important medium and Cooke & Co wish to stay at the forefront of this technology, thus giving our clients the ability to look at and use , up to date qualified information.’ To that end Cooke & Co are members of the National Association of Estate Agents Internet Standards Authority.

A rental division was started to meet a clear need in the community for the same professional approach for people who wanted to rent properties. Using the same company philosophy for customer satisfaction, and professionalism Cooke and Co now manages more than 800 properties in all market sectors.

Cooke and Co pride themselves in having some of the best estate agency staff in the area who offer a friendly, enthusiastic, experienced and professional service. Cooke and Co’s strength is in the companies ability to have committed staff that have remained with the company since its inception.

In 2006 Cooke and Co launched its new website with a fresh modern look to allow customers to easily find properties to buy, sell or rent. This was coupled with new technology that allows us to automatically update all properties for sale within minutes of being instructed. We have invested heavily in a multimedia platform that allows out of area buyers to engage in a virtual viewing online or by watching one of our DVDs.

Damien is pleased to announce that, with effect from 30th November 2007, Mike has retired from the partnership known as "Cooke & Co Estate Agents", previously operated by Mr Cooke and Mr Bastow from the premises at 147 Northdown Road Cliftonville Kent CT9 2QY. Damien will continue to operate as a sole trader from that address, with effect from that date, under the trading style "Cooke & Co Estate Agents".

This does not affect the business of Pagedales Limited, who also trade as "Cooke & Co Estate Agents", from the premises at 18 King Street Ramsgate Kent and 56 High Street Broadstairs Kent.

Damien says ‘ Cooke & Co will remain at the forefront of both the estate agency and rental market well into the future by keeping to the ideals that the company was founded on and adapting to new modern trends and fresh ideas.
